Obituary for Sherry Lynn Looney:
Sherry Lynn Looney, daughter of Vaunita Colleen (Taylor) Dockins and the late William Dockins, was born on October 22, 1962, in Calico Rock, Arkansas. She died September 18, 2010, in Salem, Arkansas at the age of 47 years, 10 months and 27 days.
Sherry was united in marriage to Preston Leroy Looney on January 21, 1998, at Ash Flat, Arkansas. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Sherry spent her working years as a homemaker and she was of the Assembly of God faith.
She leaves to mourn her passing: husband, Preston Looney of Salem; four sons, Levi and Hunter Looney of Salem and Matthew and Kevin Stevens of Sand Springs; four daughters, Taylor and Katelyn Looney of Salem, Jessica Stevens of Salem and Amber Wilson of Melbourne; her mother, Vaunita Dockins of Oxford; two brothers, Roger Dockins of Oxford and Jackie Dockins of Heart; one sister, RaNee Dockins of Oxford; two grandsons, Adam DeWaun Wilson and Leon Aaron Wilson; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father and two grandchildren.
Graveside services were held on September 23, 2010, 10 am, at Oxford Cemetery in Oxford, Arkansas, with Bro. John Hodges officiating. Interment in Oxford Cemetery under the direction of Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas.
Pallbearers were Lennie Henslee, Adam Rollins, David Gault, Dillon Raines, Robbie Henslee, Rocky Smith, Sr., Tyler Cawvey and Wesley Griggs. Honorary pallbearers were Levi Looney, Hunter Looney, Matthew Stevens and Kevin Stevens.
