Guy Irl (G.I.) Gyles, 82, 1711 McRay Ave., Springdale, died Oct. 20 in the VA Hospital in Fayetteville. Born Sept. 9, 1896, at Newtown, Mo., he was the son of Thomas William and Cora Ball Gyles. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church and a retired typewriter serviceman and salesman. A Navy veteran of World War I, he was a member of Veterans of World War I Barracks 3555.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Rose Prather Gyles of the home; and one daughter, Mrs. Dixie Scott of Springdale.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Friendship Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Sisco Chapel.
