SPRINGDALE — Hugh B. Hawkins, 85, of Springdale died Friday, Feb. 11, 2011, at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale. He was born Jan. 10, 1926, in White Rock, Ark. to Samuel Loss and Matilda Jane Hawkins.
Hugh worked for J.R. Banks Lumber Company for more than 50 years.
He was preceded in death by one son, Hugh Burton Hawkins.
Survivors include his companion of 26 years, Juanita Hawkins of the home; two daughters, Vioda Woodrum of Lowell and Martha Newman of Batesville; two stepsons, Wayne Logue of Fort Smith, Fred Logue of Springdale; three stepdaughters, Lynda Chism of Springdale, Connie Mounce of Crosses, Ark., and Carolyn McDonald of Springdale and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2011, at New Horizon Freewill Baptist Church in Springdale with Bro. Lynn Crawford officiating. Burial will be in the Friendship Cemetery.
No visitation is planned.
