Percy Boyd Copeland born on August 24, 1914 at Henderson, AR and departed this life on September 27, 2008 at age 94 in his home in Mtn. View, AR.
He was a retired folk musician. He was a member of the Rackensack Society, The Jimmy Driftwood Barn and the Ozark Folk Center. Playing his French harp was one of his great joys in life.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Ida Ford Copeland, one son Devoe Copeland of Kennett, MO, a stepdaughter, Kathern Burguss Corter of Mtn. View and his father and mother, Ben and Millie Copeland of Henderson, AR.
He leaves behind six sons; Billy Copeland, Ed Copeland, Aubry Copeland, J. C. Copeland, Norman Copeland and Dale Copeland all of Mtn. View; five daughters; Wilma Golden, Sue Sanders, Betty Gosser all of Mtn. View, Juanita Sutterfield of Mtn. Home and Virginia Box of Greenville, MS; 34 grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.
Visitation is 6 – 9 p.m., Monday, September 29, 2008 at Roller Crouch Chapel.
Funeral service is 10 a.m., Tuesday, September 30, 2008 at First Assembly of God Church in Mtn. View with Bro. Gary Don Fletcher officiating and interment in Flatwoods Cemetery, Mtn. View.
Pallbearers are Dwayne Gosser, Ricky Copeland, Paul Sutterfield, Michael Golden, Bobby Copeland, Terry Copeland and Lonnie Corter. Honorary pallbearers are David Burns, Glen Branscum and John Burkey.
Roller Crouch Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
