Jess Bowen, 71, Rt. 2, Springdale, died March 8 in Springdale Memorial Hospital. He was born Oct. 13, 1904, at Spring Valley. He was the son of Thomas P. and Ida M. Holman Bowen and was a member of the Free Will Baptist Church and a retired carpenter. He moved to Springdale in 1970 from Madison County.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Eva Holman Bowen of the home; one daughter, Mrs. Vermell Wright, Springdale; two sisters, Mrs. Lucy Thomas and Mrs. Nellie Smith, both of Springdale; two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Sisco Chapel with burial in Friendship Cemetery.
