George "Buzz" Lester, age 75, of Russellville, died Tuesday, October 14, 2008 at his home. A son of the late George Seymour and Mabel Lester, he was born September 17, 1933 in Lyman, South Dakota. He grew up and graduated from high school in Webster City, Iowa, and moved to Russellville in 1965. He was an employee for Morton Frozen Foods (now Con-Agra) for over twenty-two years, and was the production manager and plant supervisor for the Russellville plant. He was a former member of the Iowa National Guard, and was a member and Elder of Boulder Avenue Christian Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Janice Lester; and a sister, LeVilla Schwartz.

Survivors include a son, Randy Allen Lester of Dover; two daughters and a son-in-law: Kathy Lester of Russellville; and Kim and Roger Love of Pottsville; three grandchildren: Danny Love and Brittany Love, both of Pottsville; and Luke Lester and his wife, Sasha, of Russellville; and three great-grandchildren: Kara, Chaz and Kay Lynn Lester, all of Russellville.

The funeral service will be at 2 P.M. on Saturday, October 18, 2008 at the Shinn Chapel, officiated by Mr. Bill Groff. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park, by Shinn Funeral Service.

Active pallbearers will be Roger Love, Zach Cates, Danny Love, Scott Ketchum, Luke Lester and Jimmie Pearson. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Sharp, T. J. Dover and Lloyd Youngman.
