We mourn the loss of Neal Northcutt Jr., who was born Sept. 11, 1924, in Stroud, Okla., to Neal and Lucille Northcutt. He served in World War II in the Pacific. He was wounded, and after seven months of recuperation, became a member of the Teamsters Union and drove a truck the rest of his career. He retired in West Fork in 1967. He was preceded in death by his wife, Penny Northcutt, his father, mother and seven brothers and one sister.
He has left behind three children, Joyce Stout and her husband David of West Fork, Linda Hazelwood of Vacaville, Calif., and Phillip Northcutt of West Fork; nine grandchildren, Penny Brown of Fayetteville, Holly Ashley of Monticello, Christy Brown of Lincoln, Brian Brown of Sprirgfield, Mo., Brenda Eaves of Benecia, Calif., Larry Heihns of Spokane, Wash., Jeff Heihns of San Pablo, Calif,, Amber Northcutt of Mountain Home and Kassi Smith of Waco, Texas.
He also had 13 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews across the country. He had three special sisters-in-law, Lois McCord and Norma Lichner of Illinois and June Ginger of Iowa.
We wish to send out a special thank you to Fred and Jan Brents, who called him at least twice a month to check on him or just visit, and to all the friends who have stood by him throughout all these years. He is greatly loved and will be missed by all those who knew him.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2004, at Moore's Chapel. He will be laid to rest beside Penny at the Mineral Springs Cemetery in West Fork.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tusday at Moore's Chapel. Student of ministry Brian Neal Brown will officiate.
Pallbearers will be his dear friends, Whitey Paul, Deany Phillips, Leon Ashworth, Marty Ashworth, Brian Brown, Chris Howard and Dewey Warford.
