Batesville Daily Guard
Esther Faye Green Walker, 86, of Melbourne died Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2009, in Melbourne.
Born Aug. 26, 1923, in Stone County, she was the daughter of James Monroe Green and Fannie Sands Green. She was united in marriage to Johnnie Walker on July 25, 1942, in Fifty-Six. She was a homemaker and a long-time member of First Baptist Church in Melbourne.
Survivors include a daughter, Faye Whitaker of Batesville; eight grandchildren, Frankie Clayton, James Clayton and Lisa Pinkston, all of Batesville, Jamie Ferguson of Mount Pleasant, Chad Swims of El Paso, Texas, Johnna Carter of Melbourne and Sarah Harms and Nathan Harms, both of St. Louis; 23 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, J.B. Walker; a brother; and a sister.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at First Baptist Church in Melbourne with Doyne Robertson officiating. Burial will be in Melbourne Cemetery under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne.
