Batesville Daily Guard
Ouida Lavon Cook Lovelady, 84, of Guion died Thursday, Dec. 14, 2006, in a Melbourne nursing home.
Born Nov. 5, 1922, in Batesville, she was the daughter of James Jefferson Cook and Minnie Ore Bursey Cook. She was self-employed at Lovelady's Grocery and was a beautician. She was a member of the Baptist Church in Guion.
Survivors include a son, Vernon Lovelady of Beebe; a daughter, Connie Coots of Batesville; a brother, Woodrow Cook of Calico Rock; four grandchildren, Rex Lovelady, Jeff Lovelady, Amy Coots and Ike Coots; three great-grandchildren; and several nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, V.J. Lovelady; two brothers; and four sisters.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Roman and Billy Howard Memorial Chapel with Alvin Wiles officiating. Burial will be in Melbourne Cemetery under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Sam Carolan, Ronnie Coots, Vernon Lovelady, Jeff Lovelady, Rex Lovelady and Ike Coots.
Honorary pallbearers are Doyne Langston, Wayne Lee, Cindy Hall, Billy Engles, Randy Engles and Gary Hilburn.
