Elmo I. Thornsberry,90, of Russellville, Arkansas, died Wednesday, March 5, 2008, at St. Mary's.
He was born at Leslie, Arkansas, to William and Annie Thornsberry. He was a carpenter and a Navy Veteran of WWII serving on the USS Hancock. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, a 33rd Degree Mason and a Shriner.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Dexter McConnell Thornsberry; two sons and daughters-in-law, Gordon and Sue Thornsberry, and William and Delores Thornsberry, all of Russellville; a daughter and son-in-law, Joy and Joe Pabian of North Little Rock; two sisters, Wanda Lindley of San Antonio, Texas, Juanita Jennings of Fort Smith; nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
The service will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, March 8, 2008, at the Shinn Chapel with Rev. Danyelle Trexler officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park.
Active pallbearers will be grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church,304 South Commerce, Russellville, AR 72801 and the Shriners Hospital for Children, 815 market Street, Galveston, TX 77550-2725.
