T.A. Hobbs, 82, of Russellville, died Tuesday, February 20, 2007 at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center. The son of James and Mary Elizabeth Neighbor Hobbs, he was born January 4, 1925 in Steubenville, Ohio. He was a 1943 graduate of Dover High School. T.A. owned and operated Hobbs Used Cars on North El Paso Avenue in Russellville for over 40 years. He had been active in the Russellville Jaycees and the Hwy 331 Shell Station Breakfast Club. He was a member of First United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Kathryn Adams Hobbs.
He is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Mary & Leon Anderson of Russellville, Joan Caughman of Russellville; four grandchildren, Clay Anderson of Russellville, Adam Anderson of Russellville, Amber Caughman Wood and her husband Stephen of Charleston, Mary Caughman of Russellville; a great granddaughter, Chanley Kathryn Wood of Charleston.
A graveside service will be at 1:30 PM, Thursday, February 22 at Rest Haven Memorial Park in Russellville by Humphrey Funeral Service, followed by a memorial service at 3:00 PM at First United Methodist Church. Rev. Mackey Yokem will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. Honorary pallbearers will be Don Canerday, Dorsey Jones, Jay Winters, Ronnie Tripp, Rick Moore, Bill James, Sam Jones, Don McAnulty, Darrell Williams, Charles Hickey, George Lovelady and Robert DeSalvo.
