John P. Cribbins, 65, of Russellville, died Friday, June 23, 2006 at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock. The son of Patrick and Mildred Ernst Cribbins, he was born April 24, 1941 in Erie, Pennsylvania. He served in the United States Air Force during the Cuban Missile Crisis. John was a 1974 graduate of the Dallas Institute of Mortuary Science. He was an embalmer and funeral director with Humphrey Funeral Service for 34 years. John began his career at the old downtown location of Gardner Funeral Service and retired in April of this year. He was both an artist and dedicated professional. He was a member of the National Funeral Directors Association and the Arkansas Funeral Directors Association. He was a member of the Riggs Hamilton Post of the American Legion. He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Kathy Cribbins Kendrick.
Survivors include his wife Miranda "Randi" Cribbins of Russellville; two daughters, Paula McCartney of Colorado and Carol Barnes of Prairie Grove, Arkansas; six grandchildren, J.R. Kendrick of Russellville, Brooklyn & Tanner Barnes of Prairie Grove, Daniel Miles, Sarah Miles, Patrick Miles & Rachael Rangel all of Colorado; a brother, Thomas Cribbins of Long Beach, California.
Funeral will be at 10 am Monday, June 26, 2006 at Humphrey Chapel. Reverend Keith Underhill will officiate. Burial will be at Rest Haven Memorial Park at Russellville under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service. Visitation will be open beginning at 4 pm, Sunday, June 25, 2006, at the funeral home.
