Lloyd Allen Black, age 48, a resident of Russellville died Tuesday, September 24, 2002 at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville. He was born on April 2, 1954 in Plummerville, Arkansas to Paul and Darthy Strickland Black. Lloyd was a 1972 graduate of Plummberville High School. He married his wife Donna on September 9, 1977 in Russellville. He was the shipping supervisor with International Paper Company in Russellville, having worked with the company for 28 years. He was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church in Plummerville.


In recent years, Lloyd and Donna attended Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church under the direction of Rev. Dalton Jones and Sini Church of God in Christ at Conway with their daughter, Sharae.


On September 9, 1977, Lloyd and Donna dedicated their lives as 'one'; spending the next twenty-five years as husband and wife, and best friends. From this union in 1981, 'baby girl', Sharae Dynasti Black was born, being the sparkle in her Daddy's eyes.


Survivors inlcude his wife, Donna Black of Russellville; a daughter, Sharae Black of Russellville; his mother, Dorothy Black of Plumerville; five brothers and two sisters in law, James Jenkins of Kansas City, Clarence Allen of California, Frankie P. Black of Plumerville, Kevin W. Black and Lisa of Conway, Kenneth J. Black and Anita of Oklahoma; five sisters and two brothers in law, Paulene Stone of Kansas City, Jeri Cox and Harold of Russellville, Sharon F. Black of Dallas, Martesia G. Parks and Tommy of Morrilton, Treasia M. Black of Morrilton.


Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, September 28, 2002 at Humphrey Chapel officiated by Rev. S.D. Mitchell. Burial will be at Rest Haven Memorial Park at Russellville under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service. The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
