*Obituary
J.B. George, 85, of Russellville, AR, peacefully stepped into Heaven and into the arms of his Heavenly Father on Saturday, October 24, 2009. He was born March 28, 1924 in Bass, Arkansas, to Elsie Lee and Oscar George. He was the second youngest in a family of six brothers and one sister. He was the last surviving sibling. He graduated from Hector High School and attended Arkansas Tech University. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II in the Pacific Theater on the USS Eastland transport ship. Before his retirement, he was the Personnel and Safety Manager for Bibler Brothers Lumber Company. He was a published author, having written a book for his grandchildren along with other poetry. He and his wife of 61 years, Imodell George have been members of First Baptist Church in Russellville for many years where he taught Sunday School for several years.
J.B. is survived by his wife, Imodell; son, Rick George and wife Terri of Russellville; daughter, Teri Tolar and husband Terry of Poplar Grove, AR; 3 3 grandchildren, Rachel George of Russellville, Brian and Suzanne George of Greenwood, and John Tolar of Poplar Grove; 6 great grandchildren, Brooklyn Sauls of Bigelow, Dylan, Ressa and Raegan Tull of Russellville, and Bree and Jesse George of Greenwood.
Funeral will be 2:00pm, Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at Humphrey Chapel. Pastor Stephen Davis will officiate. Burial will be private at Rest Haven Memorial Park in Russellville under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service.
Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 6:30pm, Tuesday, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Arkansas Hospice, 2405 East Parkway, Suite 3, Russellville, AR. 72802 and First Baptist Church, 124 East G Street, Russellville, AR. 72801.
Pallbearers will be his grandchildren, Rachel George, Brian George, John Tolar, Dylan Tull and also, Jerry Dean, Michael Bibler, Ben Hawkins, Brent Boland.
