ROGERS — Charles "Ed" Canard, 72, of Rogers died Nov. 5, 2008, at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale. He was born March 10, 1936, in Newark to William G. and Raye V. Sutterfield Canard.

Ed was a truck driver for McClinton Anchor. He was a member and deacon at Immanuel Baptist Church in Springdale. He served in the U.S. Army for three years. He loved fishing, being outdoors and spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, David Canard; and one son-in-law, Randy D. Vaughan.

Survivors include his wife, Patsy Canard of the home, to whom he was married Aug. 5, 1960; one son, Eric Canard and wife Cindy of Rogers; one daughter, Tawana Dash and husband Richard of Lincoln; five brothers, Billy Canard and wife Peggy of Russellville, Bobby Canard of Pine Bluff, Don Canard of Joshua, Texas, Dan Canard and wife Ruth of Rogers, Ricky Canard and Linda Kent of Newport; three sisters, Pat Honey and husband Dale of Hot Springs, Betty Taylor and husband Irving Torchinsky of Little Rock and Ann Barnes and husband Rick of Springdale; three grandchildren, Erica and Deric Canard of Rogers, and Randy Vaughan, and wife Shannon of Sonora; and blessed with an abundance of nephews, nieces and extended family.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Immanuel Baptist Church in Springdale with Pastor Mickey Merrick and Pastor Gary Burney officiating. Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery.

Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday at the church.

Pallbearers will be Earl Lyman, John Holyfield, George Graham, Robert Wood, Mike Wright and Jimmy Scott.

Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Taylor and Chris Barnes.
