FAYETTEVILLE — Herbert T. Beitel, 62, of Fayetteville, Ark., passed away Monday, Sept. 27, 2010, in Fayetteville, Ark. He was born July 31, 1948, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Clare and Verda Lucille (Hayes) Beitel.

He was retired from Danaher Tool Group in Springdale, a past member of the Christian Motorcycle Association, a member of Christian Life Cathedral of Fayetteville, a U.S. Navy veteran of Vietnam, and a 16-year member of the Johnson Fire Department, where he served as fire marshal, assistant fire chief, and chaplain for the department. He enjoyed fishing, camping and riding his four-wheeler.

He is survived by one aunt, Reva Thomas of Ankeny, Iowa; and all the members of the Johnson Fire Department, which he served with and loved so much.

Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 3, 2010, at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home in Fayetteville.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 4, 2010, at Christian Life Cathedral in Fayetteville with Pastor C.L. "Red" Dixon and Pastor Steve Dixon officiating. Burial will follow at Friendship Cemetery in Sprirgdale, Ark.
