Mary Kathryn Tumlison 81, of Clinton, Arkansas passed away Wednesday, May 26, 2010 at Baptist Health Medical Center Little Rock, Arkansas. She was born August 30, 1928 at Clinton, Arkansas to the late Joe C. and Johnnie (Simpson) Whillock.
Mary graduated from Clinton High School, attended Arkansas Tech, and graduated from Arkansas State Teachers College. She and husband Jim owned and operated Clintion Florist and J&M Variety and Fabrics for thirty years.
She was a member of the Clinton United Methodist Church. She also was a member of the Holiday Ramblers and Idlehour Bridge Club for over fifty years. She loved to sew and play dominos. She made and gave away hundreds of lap quilts and baby quilts every year. She helped with the Angel Tree Project every year.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years James H. Tumlison, Sr., parents, Joe and Johnnie Whillock, and brother, Carl Whillock.
She is survived by her four children, Dr. Gary and Mary Tumlison of Conway; Jo Nell and Dr. Don Warren of Clinton; James and Kathy Tumlison of Monticello; Nath and Sallie Tumlison of Clinton; fifteen grandchildren, Dr. Julie and Chris Dow of Jonesboro; Nathan and Lisa Tumlison of Little Rock; Dr. Joel and Cinthya Tumlison of Honduras; Dr. David and Margaret Warren of Clinton; Drs. Darryl and Meagin Warren of Clinton; Drs. Denny and Mandy Warren of Fayetteville; Paul and Hannah Tumlison of Benton; Katie and Mike Holland of Little Rock; Carol Ann and Dustin Hennard of Little Rock; Matthew and Kelly Tumlison of Benton; Jared Tumlison of Yukon City, OK; Megan Tumlison of Conway; Cheri and Barry Phifer of Harrison; Tommy and Brooke Horton of Batesville; and Ryan Horton of Clinton; and seventeen great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Casketbearers: Nathan Tumlison, Joel Tumlison, David Warren, Darryl Warren, Denny Warren, Paul Tumlison, Matthew Tumlison, Jared Tumlison, Tommy Horton, Ryan Horton, Chris Dow, Mike Holland, Dustin Hennard, and Barry Phifer.
Visitation will be 1:00pm and Funeral Service will be 3:00pm Friday, May 28, 2010 at Clinton United Methodist Church Clinton, Arkansas with Pastor Vaughn Marsden officiating. Burial will follow at Hunter Hill Cemetery.
