Egbert Eddie A. Walker, 90, of Mountain View, Arkansas passed away June 18, 2012. He was born July 2, 1921 in Malvern, Arkansas to Issac W, and Eva Agee (Bailey) Walker. Eddie Walker was a member of the First Baptist Church in Mountain View, Arkansas and was a World War II Veteran serving in the United States Air Force.
Mr. Walker was the owner of Walkers Jewelry store which he opened in 1948 and worked until 2007. He was a jeweler and watch maker. Mr. Walker was a key player in the beginning of the Mountain View folk festival. He was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason and a dual licensed mason at the Blue Mountain 202 Lodge in Mountain View and Lindsey Lodge 292 in Timbo, Arkansas. Along with the many accomplishments Mr. Walker achieved he was also a two-term state representative legislator from 1961-1964.
He is survived by his wife Sarah Frances (Kendrick) Walker of the home; son Tom Walker of Mountain View, Arkansas; son Jim Walker and wife Debra of Mountain View, Arkansas; sister Juantia Coleman and husband Clyde of Fox Arkansas; granddaughter Sandy Walker Melton and husband Chuck; great-grandchildren Chase Melton, Colton Melton, and Trent Walker Melton.
He is preceded in death by his parents Issac W. and Eva Agee (Bailey) Walker; three brothers; one sister; one step-mother, Ola Balentine Walker.
Services will be held at the First Baptist Church of Mountain View, Arkansas on Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at 2:00PM. A visitation will be held prior to the service at the First Baptist Church of Mountain View, Arkansas from 12:15PM-1:45PM. Bro. Ray Brown and Bro. Kenny Kendrick will be officiating the service.
Interment will be at Flatwoods Cemetery in Mountain View, Arkansas.
Pallbearers are Tommy Cleveland, Hank Arnhart, John Arnhart, Clay Arnhart, Randy Carr, and W.O. Huskey.
