MOUNTAIN VIEW - Loyd Orlando Nesbitt, 86, of Mountain View died Sunday, Aug. 11, 2002, at Batesville.
Born April 23, 1916, in Harper Hollow at Herpel, near Mountain View, he was the son of Omar Dowell Nesbitt and Dosha Kelly Harper Nesbitt. He was a retired logger and also a Baptist minister for 70 years, performing many weddings and conducting many funerals.
Survivors include his wife, Lola Nesbitt; three sons, John Nesbitt of Mountain View, Desmal Nesbitt of Newnata and Wayne Early Nesbitt of Minnesota; three daughters, Bonnie Crymes, Bernice Green and Laura Beth Alexander, all of Mountain View; two brothers, Dwayne Nesbitt and Howard Nesbitt, both of Mountain View; 17 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Faye McDonald; his second wife, Pauline Devine; and a daughter, Zella Maie Springer.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at East Richwoods Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. John Swan and the Rev. Junior Barham officiating. Burial will be in Flatwoods Cemetery with arrangements by Roller Crouch Funeral Home of Mountain View.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 tonight at Roller Crouch Chapel
