Wilma Laverne Stobaugh, whose career as a teacher in Arkansas spanned four decades, passed away at age 93, March 11, 2010 in Ojai, California, where she resided since January 2007.

She was born November 11, 1916 in Shirley, Arkansas to Dora and Oscar West. She graduated from high school in Clinton, Arkansas received an Associate of Arts degree from Central Baptist College and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from Arkansas State Teachers College.

She married Roy Stobaugh (1917-1994) in 1941 who later became Superintendent of Schools in Hughes, Arkansas until retirement. Mrs. Stobaugh's career included teaching in Scotland, Cherry Valley and "Turrell, Arkansas ending after some 20 years in Hughes. She taught a variety of subjects but loved teaching choral music and then on Sunday playing the piano and organ in her church. In retirement she and her husband moved to Conway, Arkansas in 1982.

She was the loving mother of two daughters, Suzanne (Mrs. Berkley Baker of Ojai, California) and Sara Jane (Mrs. Dan Flowers of North Little Rock). Her Sister Lula (Mrs Morse Mallett) lives in Searcy. She is survived by four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Suzanne's son Tagg Baker and wife Marissa; Sara's daughter Lea and husband Don Baker, with children Will and Molly Claire; daughter Jennifer and husband Nick Remy with children Robert and Sara Grace; and son Matthew and wife Julie with son Zachary.

Casketbearers: Tagg Baker, Matthew Flowers, Danny Mallett, Trent Mallett, Richard James, and Ronnie Smith.

Funeral Service will be held Thursday, March 18, 2010 at Roller McNutt Funeral Home Chapel in Clinton, Arkansas. Visitation will be 1:30-2:00pm with the service beginning at 2:00pm.

Burial will follow at Hunter Hill Cemetery Clinton, Arkansas.
