Fred Wendell Binns Jr., 58, a resident of Russellville went to be with the Lord, Monday, August 20, 2007.

Mr. Binns was born March 19, 1949, in Anchorage, Alaska to Fred Wendell and Margaret Ann Stephens Binns. He spent his childhood years in Redding, California, Missoula, Montana and Klamath Falls, Oregon. After graduating from Clinton High School, he served three years with the United States Army including a tour of duty in Vietnam. When he returned home from Vietnam he attended the University of Central Arkansas where he studied Art. While in college he met and married his beloved wife, Marilyn Craig in 1973. Mr. Binns worked in Russellville at Arkansas Nuclear One as an electrician for 23 years until his retirement in 2004.

Mr. Binns was of the Baptist faith. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Roger-Rye Post 2283, the National Arbor Day Foundation and a life member of both Wildlife Forever and the North American Hunting Club. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved camping, hunting, fishing, gardening, cooking and spending time with friends and family. His most cherished memories are of his camping trips to Alaska with his dad and brother.

Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Marilyn Binns of Russellville; his daughter, Amanda Binns and her fianc�, Kevin Chagnon, both of Dallas, Texas; his parents, Fred and Margaret Binns of Choctaw; a brother, Stephen Binns of Fairbanks, Alaska; four aunts, Jane Yarborough and Lois Larson of Portland, Oregon and Virginia Cullum and Jean Kidd both of Choctaw; and several cousins.

The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, August 23, 2007, at the Shinn Chapel with the Rev. Steve Mosley and the Rev. Fred Holtz officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Roger-Rye Post 2283 immediately following the service. Burial will be in Hunter Hill Cemetery near Clinton under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service.

Active pallbearers will be Sid Hawkins, Archie Bernard, Carl Webster, Rick Deeds, Reza Ahrabli, and Kevin Talbert. Honorary pallbearers will be employees of the Unit One and Two Electric Shops and Relay Shop at Arkansas Nuclear One.
