VORE, Fred D. - Stuttgart, March 21.- Fred D. Vore, 39, died at his residence, 622 South Grand avenue, this city, at 11 o'clock today of malignant Bright's disease. Mr. Vore was one of the best known newspaper men in this state, having been engaged in newspaper work in Arkansas for the past 15 years, a good part of the time in special write-up work for various papers. He was born in Iowa in 1876 and came to Rogers, Ark. 15 years ago with his parents, where his father died a few years later. He is survived by his mother who resides in Hondo, Tex, his wife and one child. Mr. Vore came to this city four years ago and got out a special write-up issue of the Free Press and afterward moved his family here and took a regular position with the same paper. He afterward went with the Missouri and North Arkansas railroad as traveling passenger agent, which position he retained until two weeks ago when he returned here and again took up his newspaper work with the Free Press. He was a member of the F. and A. Masons and A.O.U.W. of this city and the B.P.E. Elks of Arkadelphia. The body will be sent to Rogers where the funeral will be held with Masonic honors and the body will be buried beside his father, the same lodge officiating that conferred the last rites on his father. ***** Mr. Vore was a nephew of Mrs. R.C. Copp of this city and is remembered by many of our older citizens. He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. C.D. Vore, the latter being a sister of Mrs. Copp. The body arrived here yesterday morning and funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church at three in the afternoon, being conducted by Rev. Kirkpatrick. Mr. Vore founded, and for several years edited, the Clarksville Democrat and later was for a year secretary of the Commercial Club at Arkadelphia. He was a member of the Arkansas Press Association and his death will be learned with much regret by the fraternity throughout the state.
