DYER, B.F. - B.F. Dyer died Friday night at his home four miles west of Rogers on the old Willis Miller place after a long siege of ill health. Funeral services were held at the Rogers cemetery Sunday morning. Mr. Dyer, while a stranger to those who have located in Rogers in the last few years, is well remembered by our older citizens. He was one of the pioneer business men of Rogers, being engaged in the hardware business here for nearly twenty years, first with his brother, Carl Dyer, and later by himself. He occupied the building where the Farmers State Bank is now located. Not long after the death of his first wife in 1902 he left Rogers and located in Grove. There he married Miss Blanche Carpenter, who survives him, as also do two daughters, Mrs. Wessie Day of Kansas City and Mrs. Georgia Austin of Grove. Mr. Dyer's health broke down completely while at Grove and after some time in hospitals and sanitariums he bought the farm west of Rogers and had lived there the last year or two.
