James Franklin Bounds

J.F. Bounds' grave at Antioch Cemetery was originally marked with a wooden plank bearing the initials JFB (or perhaps the marker was placed/replaced in 1951 at the time of his wife Della's death). This wooden marker apparently survived into the 1970s when a cemetery census noted it's presence alongside the grave of Della Bounds Varner. However, in spring 1996 this marker was no longer there, so in summer 1996 Anita Powell Stevenson placed a small granite marker, also bearing the initials JFB, at his grave.
In Nov 2006, Anita and Mike Stevenson placed a new stone with “J.F. Bounds” 1866 - 1897”
J.F. Bounds was Della Hubbard's 1st husband. The marriage was apparently one of great love, for despite being married to Green Varner for 47 years before his death, it was her wish to be buried next to her first husband John Franklin Bounds.
