Obituary (as written)
Rogers Democrat
December 3, 1925
LANDERS, Florence Loretta WOODS - Mrs. Newt Landers died Tuesday morning at her home at No. 110 North Fourth street in this city after a long illness, the result of tuberculosis. She had been very low all fall and her death was not unexpected. Funeral services were held at the First Baptist Church yesterday afternoon at 3:00 o'clock and were conducted by the pastor, Rev. A.A. DuLaney. Burial was at the City Cemetery. Florence Loretta Woods was born northwest of Rogers June 23, 1877 and was a daughter of Robert Woods, one of the pioneer settlers of that part of the county. She was 50 years, five months and eight days old at the time of her death and most of her life was spent in and near Rogers. She married J. Newton Landers in February 1896 and to them were born three daughters, Mabel, the oldest child, died in Texas at the age of seven and Opal, the youngest, died in Rogers at the age of four. She is survived by her husband and by one daughter, Miss Hattie Landers of this city. Also by three brothers: Bert Woods of Coffeyville, Kansas; J.N. Woods of Carthage, Mo. and Herbert Woods of Fellsmere, Florida. Mrs. Landers was a member of the Baptist church, holding her membership in the church at Pleasant Hill, north of Rogers, but attending here so long as her health allowed. She was also a member of the Daughters of Rebekah.
