BENTONVILLE — Calvin Franklin McCollum, 68, of Bentonville died at his home Oct. 7, 2006. He was born Jan. 29. 1938, in Stuttgart to Lester Marion and Gertie Louise Joshlin McCollum.
He was raised and educated in Stuttgart and also attended Brunswick Vocational School in Chicago. He and Ann Borchert were married on March 29, 1957. He worked for several years as a farmer and as a selfemployed carpenter and lawn care person. He also worked for the U.S. Postal Service and recently for Wal-Mart as an assembler. He attended the First Baptist Church in Stuttgart and in Bentonville.
Survivors include his wife Ann McCollum of the home; four sons, Jeffery Allen McCollum and wife Elizabeth of Springdale, Gerald Wayne McCollum and wife Diane of Fayetteville, Jack Emory McCollum and wife Leda of Tulsa, Okla., and Scott Michael McCollum and wife Denisha of Gentry; one daughter, Stacy Ann Rich and husband John of Magnolia; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church of Bentonville. Burial will follow in the Gentry Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Callison-Lough Funeral Home in Bentonville.
Donations can be made to St. Mary's Hospice or The First Baptist Church of Bentonville.
