Ed Mitchell, 83, of Mtn. View entered into rest on August 6, 2009 at Little Rock, Arkansas.

Ed was born October 17, 1925 in Stone County, Arkansas to Isaac and Elsie (Holt) Mitchell.

He was a member of Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church and a World War II Navy veteran. He worked for the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission as an Area Manager.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Beatrice Stevens Mitchell; three sons, Steve Mitchell and wife Jeanette of Fifty Six, Mike Mitchell and wife Jo of Mtn. View and Ivan Mitchell and wife Kim of Timbo; sister, Edna Stewart of Mtn. View and grandchildren; Eddie Jack Mitchell and wife Brittany, Meranda Ricketts and husband Shawn, Mariah Mitchell, Andy Hamm and wife Suzanne and Brad Medlock and wife Stacy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Isaac and Elsie Mitchell and a granddaughter, Ann Medlock.

Visitation is 6 – 9 p.m., Friday, August 7, 2009 at Roller Coffman Chapel, Mtn. View.

Funeral service is 2 p.m., Saturday, August 8, 2009 at Roller Coffman Chapel, Mtn. View with Bro. Gary Ragland officiating and interment in Fifty Six Cemetery, Fifty Six, Arkansas.

Pallbearers are Eddie Jack Mitchell, Shawn Ricketts, Brad Medlock, Greg Stevens,
Roger Franks and John Calloway. Honorary pallbearers are Fred Ward, Junious Stewart, Bobby Balentine, Gaylor Thomas, Daniel Stephens and Jake Ragland.
