Son of James H and Mary Jane Crocker
Dr. Jacob Thomas Crocker was born 1853 in Rome, Georgia, the son of James H. Crocker and Mary Jane Crocker. The family came to Franklin County about 1870. J.T. Crocker married Mary Elzora Hamm, daughter of Joseph Robertson Hamm and Julia Parlee Turner, on December 14th 1881. They had six children: Joseph Robert; Myrtle, Ruby Ann, Vera, Opal, and Garland William Smither. He attended the Arkansas University Medical School & received his diploma from the Hospital College of Medicine, Memphis TN in 1883. Dr. Crocker practiced medicine in Crawford & Franklin Counties for many years. He lived in his later years with his daughter Opal in Oklahoma. He died at the age of 98, on Sept. 27, 1951.
