Gene Kendrick, 68, of Fifty-Six died on March 19, 2013 in Batesville.
He was born on March 26, 1944 in Mountain View to Kile and Edra (Sands) Kendrick. He was saved and then baptized by the authority of Calvary Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Coachella, California on June 30, 1958.
He was a lifelong heavy equipment operator and truck driver. He loved to spend time with family, friends and especially co-workers.
Gene is survived by his wife of 49 years Juanita (Shipman) Kendrick of Fifty-Six; a son Kenny Kendrick and his wife Stephanie of Mountain View; two grandsons, Peyton and Kollin Kendrick of Mountain View; two brothers, Jack Kendrick and wife Peggy of Fifty-Six, and Olis Kendrick and wife Lynn of Shingle Springs, California; one sister Ima Rose Jording and husband Ron of Phoenix, Arizona; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friens.
He was preceded in death by his parents Kile and Edra Kendrick and his mother-in-law and father-in-law Verlin and Davie Lea Shipman.
Services will be held Saturday, March 23, 2013 at Fifty-Six Missionary Baptist Church in Fifty-Six with Brother Luther Branscum and Brother Robb Arnold officiating.
Pallbearers will be Reece Tubbs, Kevin Cartwright, Jimmy Mitchell, Mike Balentine, R.C. Alexander, and Alex Franks. Honorary pallbearers will be Justin Balentine, Carroll Smith, Lindon McDonald, and Darrell Gosser.
Roller Crouch Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
