According to his obituary, the orders of the W.O.W. and the M.W.A., of which he was a member, combined in the funeral ceremonies, together with eight members of Company I of the National Guards, of which he was also a member as escorts. His grave is marked by a Woodmen of the World (W.O.W.) gravestone, and a resolution of respect was printed in the Mountain Echo, Yellville, from the Modern Woodmen of The World (M.W.A.).
