Mr John Baber Dead

There passed away at his home here last night Mr John Baber, familiarly called "Uncle Johnny" aged about 90 years, one of the oldest inhabitants of this part of the state.
Mr Baber has for several weeks been a sufferer from a weak heart and although attended by the best physicians, his condition grew gradually worse and it has been known several days that he could not recover.
Mr Baber came to this county from Alabama many years ago and has ever been identified with ever movement which had for its object the betterment of humanity. He was a Methodist in belief and was a member of that church at the time of his death.
He is survived by his aged wife, one brother, one son and three daughters.
The remains were laid to rest in the Melbourne Cemetery today, services being conducted by Rev. L. B. Hankins.

(note: 7th Reg. AL Cav. CSA - Baber, Ann (widow) applied for pension 8/9/1913 Izard County)
