John Jacob Mosley, 37, of Cabot, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 19, 2012. John was a fun-loving man who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, helping others, and hunting and fishing. John was the sunshine on anyone’s cloudy day. He was taken from us by a senseless act of violence while at his family’s annual party and picnic. John was born January 9, 1975. He is survived by his daughter, Claire Thompson; mother, Patsy Mosley; father, Robert Mosley; brother, Michael Mosley; and sister, Sherri States (Curt). He is also survived by nieces, Michelle Crook and Alexis Jade Hunter; nephews, Ryan Christopher Hunter, Michael Lynn Mosley, and James Travis Mosley; and special friend, Rhonda Tucker. John had a very huge family and is also survived by numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins. He was also blessed by a great many friends.

LITTLE ROCK, AR - An England man was arrested Sunday morning after he allegedly shot at two people at a party in Scott, killing one of them.

According to the incident report, 46-year-old Terry Detherow fired shots at 7925 Bayou Drive. 37-year-old John Jacob Mosley was shot one time in the chest. According to the report, he was driven to the Springhill Baptist Emergency room by his uncle. Mosely died later that night.

The other victim in the shooting, 55-year-old Charles Wilmoth, received a minor laceration to the face.

The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office found Detherow at a Travel Lodge in Little Rock with his girlfriend.

Detherow is charged with 1st degree murder and attempted 1st degree murder. He is also charged with 3rd degree battery, after deputies found his girlfriend had a swollen lip and a black eye.
