Mr. Ernest Austin Mauldin, JR., (E.A.) of Arlington, Texas, formerly of McCrory, died on Wednesday, November 3, 2010. He was 90 years of age.

Interment was in Fakes Chapel Cemetery.

Mr. Mauldin was born in Newport, Arkansas on February 29, 1920 to Ernest Austin and Vela Elizabeth Cleveland Mauldin.

They moved to McCrory where he was a 1947 graduate of McCrory High School. Mr. Mauldin was married on October 25, 1947 to the former Eunice Graves who survives.

He served his country in the Army Air Force mostly in the Naples, Italy area. Mr. Mauldin was a member of the Church of Good Shepherd United Methodist Church in Arlington. A member of the American Legion Post I, Mr. Mauldin retired from White Farm Equipment which was formerly Minneapolis Moline where he was employed for 35 years. He was also employed by Battery Plus and a part time clerk for Allen's Ace Hardware.

His wife said he retired three times, the last time in 2004. Although they lived in Arlington, Texas, they always considered McCrory their home and came back each year for family reunions and to visit friends.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Eunice Graves Mauldin of Arlington, two sons: James Larry Mauldin of Columbia, Missouri and Barry Wayne Mauldin of The Woodlands, Texas, one brother: James H. Mauldin of Little Rock, two sisters: Grace Helen Pfeiffer of Conway and Alma Lee Padgitt of Osceola, two grandsons and 2 granddaughters.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers: Loyd H. and Neal B. Mauldin and one sister: Gladys Hardy.

Pallbearers were: Joshua Austin Mauldin, Jason Charles Guerra, Michael Douglas Hopper, Jerry Neal Mauldin, James Ray Mauldin and Nicolas Martin Klein.
