Anna Mae Brooks Cooley, age 81, of Mt. Pleasant, Arkansas passed away Saturday, April 4, 2009.

Born on March 5, 1928 in Mt. Pleasant, Arkansas, she was the daughter of Jasper Warren Brooks and Effie Weatherford Brooks.

She was a homemaker, loved sewing and gardening and was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include one son, Larry Cooley and his wife, Marilyn of Mt. Pleasant; eight daughters, Joan Brashers and her husband, Jimmy of Ruddell Hill, Geraldine Holt and her husband, David of Batesville, Agness Ingram and her husband, William of Bethesda, Linda Copeland and her husband, Larry of Las Vegas, NV, Pat Sifford and her husband, Joe of Cave City, Mary Weaver and her husband, Terry of Sulphur Rock, Terri Rudd and her husband, Jim of Magness and Lisa Cooley and her fiance, Lynn of St. Charles; one brother, Jasper Brooks of Roland, OK; three sisters, Shelby O'Neal of Plano, TX, Sharon Smith of Sidney and Jean Smith of Guion; twenty-two grandchildren and thirty-three great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joseph Cooley; one son, Leroy Cooley; one daughter, Carolyn Brown; two grandchildren, Andrew Rudd and Sydney Rudd; an infant brother, J.C. Brooks, five brothers, Gerald Brooks, Robbie Brooks, Ruddell Brooks, Jerry Brooks and Kenneth Brooks and one sister, Ella Faye Brooks.

Services are Wednesday, April 8, 10:00 a.m., at the Ruddell Hill Baptist Church in Batesville with Shannon Smith officiating.

Burial will follow in the Barren Fork Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant under the direction of Willis Funeral Service of Batesville.

Pallbearers are her grandsons, Eric Brashers, Jamie Ingram, Micheal Sutterfield, Jason Holt, Wesley Cooley, Wade Cooley, Joseph Ingram, Terry Brown, Cody Roach and Ryan Weaver.

Honorary pallbearers are her granddaughters, great grandchildren and Dr. Ron Bates and his staff.

Visitation is Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Children's Home in Paragould, Arkansas.
