Buddy Lee Richardson, 86 of Guy, Arkansas passed away on February 15, 2024. Buddy was born in Corning, Arkansas on June 24, 1937. He was adopted at an early age by his loving parents, the late Elmer Richardson, and Lucille Whitwell Richardson.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 51 years, Elizabeth Richardson; one brother, Larry Richardson of Little Rock; and one sister, Linda Magby of Alexander.

Buddy retired after 25 years from Champion International Paper Company and continued working various jobs until he retired from Conway Parks and Recreation at the age of 82. He was a fierce competitor and outdoorsman. He coached and officiated youth sports for over 50 years. His most loving past time was supporting his grandchildren in their activities.

Buddy is survived by one son, Morgan Richardson (Debbie) of Caruthersville, FL; two daughters, Lisa Stevenson (David) of Guy, AR, and Karen Swift (Wes) of Jonesboro, AR; seven grandchildren, Bradley Stevenson (Tara), Dr. Elizabeth Duke (Cody), Dr. Daniel Richardson (Katie), Dr. Jason Stevenson, Sarah Mitchell (Brian), Mary Beth Bailey, and Parker Bailey; and five great grandchildren.

The visitation will be Friday, February 16th from 5:00 - 8:00 pm at LifeSong Baptist Church, Greenbrier, AR. The funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:00 pm, February 17th at LifeSong Baptist Church, Greenbrier, AR with Bro. Freddie Mark Wilcox officiating. Burial will be at Copperas Springs Cemetery, Guy, AR.
Serving as pallbearers will be David Johnson, Dr. Don Barnett, Steve Sohl, Raymond Brown, Wesley Brown, Joe Keeton, Butch Rimmer, and "Buddy's Brats" 16u Softball State Champions.

Elizabeth Richardson, 70, of Guy, formerly of Mabelvale, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord on April 21, 2012, at her home. Elizabeth was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. She was born February 19, 1942 in Vimy Ridge, AR., the daughter of the late Raymond Morgan Sanders, and Mary Maxene Lakin Sanders of Mabelvale.

Elizabeth is survived by her husband of 51 years Buddy Richardson of Guy, one son, Morgan Richardson (Debbie Richardson) of Sheridan, two daughters, Lisa Stevenson (David Stevenson), Karen Richardson Bailey (Bentley Bailey) both of Guy, seven grandchildren, Bradley Stevenson, Elizabeth Richardson, Daniel Richardson, Jason Stevenson, Sarah Stevenson, Mary Beth Bailey, and Parker Bailey, and one great-grandson, Haze Stevenson.

She retired from the University of Central Arkansas, where she was an assistant to the director of housekeeping. Elizabeth graduated from Mabelvale High School in 1959 and attended the University of Central Arkansas. She was a devoted wife and mother. Elizabeth enjoyed sporting events and any activities that her grandchildren were involved in.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 24, 2012, at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Guy, AR., with Bro. Tim Brewer officiating. Burial will be at Copperas Springs Cemetery in Guy. Serving as pallbearers will be Donald Barnett, Chuck Tripp, Steve Sohl, Mikey Lakin, Mark Griffin, and Gary Glover. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Greenbrier (501-679-2575).
