FOWLER, W.H. - W.H. Fowler died at his home in the south part of Rogers yesterday morning at 4:30 o'clock. His death has been expected daily for some time so the announcement was not a surprise. Consumption was the immediate cause of his death. The last time Mr. Fowler was down town was Thanksgiving Day. The funeral services will be held at the residence this morning at 10 o'clock under the auspices of the Masonic order. Rev. Hinds, Fayetteville, will have charge of the services. W.H. Fowler was born in Hancock county, West Virginia on October 24, 1850. He came to Arkansas in 1872. He was married to Miss M.C. Dalton on September 6, 1874. In October 1878 he was married to Miss M.J. Dalton, a sister of his deceased wife. He leaves six children: Mrs. Myrtle Forsythe, the only child of his first wife; Kittie, Ernest, Carrie, Fay and Howard. Mr. Fowler was one of Rogers' oldest citizens, having removed here in 1881 when the town was first started, and was a contractor and builder. He succeeded George Raupp in the furniture business ten or twelve years ago and has since been in that line. He was also at the time of his death president of the Rogers Lumber Co. By the death of Mr. Fowler, Rogers has lost one of her best known business men and his loss will be a severe one to friends and relatives. The family have the sympathy of the entire community in this great hour of sorrow.
