Husband of Mary Ann Wilson Kendall
Husband of Sara Melissa Clark Kendall
Son of Edward Elma and Nancy Smith Kendall
Isaac Kendall was born in Shellbyville, Bedford, Tennessee to parents Edward Elms and Nancy Smith Kendall. Isaac's father was born in 1801 in High Point, Guilford, North Caroline. His mother was born in 1803 in Montgomery, North Carolina.
Married twice, Isaac's first wife was Mary Ann Wilson. They were married on Feb. 29, 1844 in Fayette, Tennessee. Isaac and Mary Ann had no known children. Their marriage ended in divorce.
Sara Melissa Clark was Isaac's second wife. She was the daughter of James and Mary Horn Clark. She was born in 1826 in Tennessee. Her father was born in Belfast, Ireland and her mother was born in the early Virginia-North Carolina Colonies.
Isaac and Sara were married circa 1846, probably in Tennessee. They had nine known children from their marriage union. The first two children were born in Tennessee and the others were born in Carroll County, Arkansas.
The Kendall's left Tennessee and moved to Arkansas between 1848 and 1850. Then after their last child was born in 1866, they left Carroll County and moved to Johnson County, Arkansas. In 1870 the family was living in the Horsehead Township.
Occupationally, like most of the early settlers, Isaac was a farmer. When his sons got older, they too became involved in the farming operations. They worked hard on a daily basis to keep the farming business humming smoothly. Their work was truly a family project.
Isaac passed away in 1892 and he was laid to rest in the Bethlehem Cemetery.
