Mildred Joyce (Fortner) Reveley, 80, of the 16th Section Community, passed away Tuesday Feb. 2, 2010.

Born in Vilonia, on Nov. 28, 1929, she was a daughter to the late M.E. “Bud” and Nora (Sullivan) Fortner.

Joyce was a very civic-minded person.

She served as clerk on nearly every election held.

In 1992, she helped organize a meeting to purchase property for a new Community Center.

She was a co-signer on the purchase of this property and worked diligently on fundraisers to help fund the new center. She worked at every fundraiser until her health would not permit her to anymore. She was a lifetime member of The Good Neighbors Club, an organization made up of women who do benevolent work for anyone in need, a member of the Red Hat Club and a member and trustee of 16th Section United Methodist Church for over 50 years.

She was preceded in death by her aforementioned parents; her husband, Coleman Gartrell Reveley Jr.; a son, Jerry Dale Reveley; five sisters; and seven brothers.

Joyce is survived by her daughter, Brenda Frazier and husband Jerry of Austin, Ark.; grandchildren, Lynn Hefley and wife Ali of Cabot and Jayson Hefley and wife Tonya of Austin; great-grandchildren, McKenzie Hefley of Texas, Hayden Hefley and Chloe Hefley, both of Cabot; a sister, Geral Dean Frazier and husband Loyce of Austin; her companion, T.J. Harrod; brother-in-law, Harold Stocks and wife Corrine; and special niece, Gloria Tucker; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation was Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at Roller McNutt Funeral Home in Conway.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. today at the funeral home with Wes Howard and Gene Gilliam officiating.

Interment will follow at 16th Section Cemetery with Tommy Sumler, Delbert Sumler, Brian Oakley, Clay Austin, Bobby Merkel and Berry Rees serving as pallbearers.

Honorary pallbearers are Noble and Nora Rees, Barbara Troutman and the Good Neighbors Club.

Memorials may be made to the 16th Section United Methodist Church Building Fund.
