WELCH
Douglas Joy Welch, formerly of Rudy, Arkansas, left this world April 13, 2002. He was born July 17, 1921. He was preceded by his parents, three sisters, four brothers , and one grandchild. He is survived by his wife, Willa Deen, and her mother Trudy Smith; daughter, Cynthia and husband, Daymor Moses of Palm Desert, California; Roger and his wife, Nanette of Fairport, NY; and son, Michael of Jones, OK; eight grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. Interment in Morrison Cemetery, at Rudy, Arkansas. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Lung Association.

Willa Deen Welch, 82, entered into the presence of her Lord on January 13, 2008. Known by all as Deen, she was born Dec. 30, 1925, to Reves and Trudy Smith of Rudy, Arkansas. She is survived by three children, Roger Welch and wife Nanette of Edmond, OK, Cynthia Moses and husband Daymor Moses of Indio Hills, CA, and Michael Welch of Harrah, OK; her sister, Odessa Gentry of Rudy, AR; and brother, Dennis Smith of Springfield, MO; six grandchildren, eleven great- grandchildren, and two great-greatgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Joy Welch, and one grandson, Howard Douglas Welch. A lifelong resident of Oklahoma City, she relocated to Indio Hills, CA, to live with her daughter in 2005. While there, she attended the Grace Chapel Church. Deen was a devout Christian and served faithfully as the Calvary Temple Assembly of God Church in Oklahoma City for many years. She worked for the Western Electric Company, retiring after 23 years of service and maintained contact with former co-workers through the Pioneers organization. After retirement, she and her husband spent many years enjoying traveling, camping, and visiting friends and family. They spent winters in California and returned home to their permanent residence in Oklahoma City for the spring and summer. Deen had a zest for life and a smile that was contagious. She devoted her life to caring for her husband, family, and friends. Memorial services will be held at Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren, AR, Saturday, January, 19, 2008, at 1:00 p.m., with interment at the Morrison Cemetery. The family has requested gifts be made to the National Parkinson Foundation, in lieu of flowers. National Parkinson Foundation, Inc.
