Maud Payne Rouse
Wife of Ranville T. "Tink" Rouse
Daughter of Mary Ann Elizabeth "Mollie" Taylor Payne & John Preston Payne

April 29, 1890--January 13, 1911
Married July 28, 1907

Maude Payne Rouse died during childbirth. The infant also died. Mrs. Rouse and the infant were buried together. A concrete pen was erected around the grave, and MAUD ROUSE was drawn in the top of the east end of the pen. Over the years, two rather large pine trees have grown inside the pen and over the graves. In later years, through research, a plate was placed on one corner of the pen with more complete information including dates. A similar plate for the infant was placed on the opposite corner.
An obituary, if one was published, for Maude Payne Rouse, or her infant could not be located. The following one was constructed in October 2000, to be placed in the Galaltia Cemetery Book. The information was furnished by Mrs. Shirley Payne McBride, Garland, TX, Mrs. Vera Lane Reeves, Norfork, AR and Ray Stinchcomb, Catoose, OK.
