Jesse O. Hayden, aged 56, one of this section's best known and most highly respected citizens, died at the Little Rock hospital Saturday morning. He had been troubled with a heart ailment for several months past. After suffering recent severe attacks, he was removed to the hospital the early part of last week. Olive, he moved back to Stone County to engage in farming and stock raising, residing on his farm near Boswell till he was called by death. Deceased had a wide acquaintance in this vicinity, and the news of his death comes as a shock to the many who knew him intimately. Funeral services, conducted by a brother of the deceased, Rev. R. S. Hayden, superintendent of the Conway Methodist district, were held at Mt. Olive Monday at 2 p.m. Interment was in Mt. Olive cemetery.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs Bessie Hayden; three daughters, Evelyn Hayden of Boswell, Mrs Ferrill McSpadden of Locust Grove and Mrs Joseph Bess of Pine Bluff; three sons, Audley, Jeffery and Horace Hayden of Boswell; four other brothers, R. L. Hayden of Bakersfield, Calif., Oscar Hayden and County Judge Hale Hayden of Allison and Walter Hayden of Guion and a sister Mrs Jennie Mayo of Okemah, Oklahoma.
