Mrs. Rebecca Hayden, aged 80, lifelong resident of this section, died at the home of her son, Walter Hayden on the Hayden farm near Boswell. Mrs. Hayden was born about 1860 and reared at Mt. Olive, being a daughter of Elijah and Jane Jeffery, pioneer settlers of that community. She was married to Dr. William Ransom Hayden, who was active in the practice of medicine in Izard and Stone counties until the time of his death at Mt. Olive in 1921. She united with the Cumberland Presbyterian Church early in life. Surviving are six sons, Jess, Oscar, and Walter Hayden of Boswell, the Rev. R.S. Hayden, pastor of First Methodist Church, Conway, Robert Hayden of Bakersfield, California and Hale Hayden, county judge-elect of Stone County; two daughters, Mrs. Jennie Mayo of Okemah, Oklahoma and Mrs. Alma Estes of Calico Rock; and one sister, Mrs. Nora Robertson of Melbourne. Funeral services were held at the Mt. Olive Presbyterian Church, by the Rev. D.R. Robertson of Mt. Olive. Interment was in the Mt. Olive Cemetery
