Died
In this city, after a long illness of cancer of the stomach, on last Thursday night, Mr. P. C. Higgason, aged about 50 years. The deceased was a quiet, peaceable and most exemplary citizen.
He was held In high esteem by all who knew him. He was an honest man, and in all his dealings with his fellow man was open, frank and sincere.
He leaves a wife and six children, four of whom are grown, to mourn his death, besides his aged father, Mr. L. N. Higgason, of Wilmar, and other near relatives, all of whom have our heartfelt codolence.
The deceased was a worthy member of the Macabees, and was well beloved by that order.
The remains were interred in Oakland Cemetery, this city, on Saturday morning at 9 o'clock, after impressive services, at the grave, by Rev. M. B.
Corrigon, Pastor of the M. E. Church, South.
