Hazel Irene Parnell, 72, a Baxter County woman, died Thursday at Baxter General Hospital.
Mrs. Parnell had live her since 1923 when she moved here for Dixon, MO. She was born in Dixon, Nov 1, 1910. She married Chester C. 'Chuck' Parnell Dec 25, 1932, at Norfork. Mrs. Parnell was a member of the First Assemly of God Church of Mt. Home.
Survivors include one son, Max Parnell of Greenwood, MS; one daughter, Sue Fletcher of Mt. Home; one brother, the Rev. John Best of Benton; two sisters Lillie King of Yellville and Velma Lee Waggoner of Russellville; four grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She ws preceded in death by her parents, A.H. and Ella Hicks Best; her husband, who died in February of 1974; two brothers; and one sister.
Services were Sunday at Roller Funeral Home Chapel; with Brother Lyndale Harberson officiating. Burial was in Galatia Cemetery with Allen Walton, David Hestley, Phil Barber, Willis Wiesenmiller, Gerald David Perry and Joe Winters serving as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Assembly of God Church or to their favorite charity.
