Jarlene Lena Branscum Chism of Norfork, daughter of the late Albert and Beulah May Bagwell Branscum, was born January 1, 1931, in Culp. She died on Augus 6, 2002, at Norfork. She was 71 years old.
She was united in marriage to Glen Franklin Chism on August 20, 1949. To this union seven children were born.
During her working years, Mrs. Chism was employed at Baxter Health Care. She retired in 1981, after 13 years of employment. She was a member of the Lone Rock Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Glen Chism of the home; three daughters and sons-in-law, Helen and Joe Woods of Salesville, Lisa and John Stubbs of Mt. View, and Connie Corter of Carlisle; three sons, and two daughters-in-law, Melvin Chism of Norfork, Cecil and Donna Chism of Norfork and Kenneth and Lisa Chism of Flippin; one sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Eugene Phifer of Bald Knob; seven brothers and four sisters-in-law, Bud and Midge Branscum of Peshastin, Washington, Carl and Lillie Mae Branscum of Winters, California, Leffel Branscum of Calico Rock, Lewie and Marie Branscum of Calico Rock, Avery Branscum of Calico Rock, Harvey Branscum of Calico Rock, and Jim and Linda Branscum of Calico Rock; eighteen grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and a host of other friends and ralatives. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Paul Chism; one sister Zella Cox; one brother, Buster Branscum; and one grandson, Brian Woods.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM Friday, August 9, 2002, at the Calico Rock Funeral Chapel with Paul Huskey and Jerry Smith officiating.
Interment will be at Galatia Cemetery under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Calico Rock.
