Glen Franklin Chism was born to the late Earl Marvin Chism and May Dell (Collins) Chism on January 12, 1924, at the family home in Forty-Four, Arkansas. He departed this world on January 1, 2008, at his home in Norfork, Arkansas, at the age of 83 years, 11 months and 20 days. He was a second child of a family of twelve children (eight boys and four girls). Glen was united in marriage to Jarlene Lena Branscum, daughter of Albert and Beulah (Bagwell) Branscum at Optimus.
Glen is survived by six children; Melvin Chism and wife Donna of Norfork, Helen Woods and husband Joe of Salesville, Kennith Chism and wife Lisa of Gassville, Connie Corer of Carlisle and Lesa Stubbs of Mt. View; three brothers, Dale Chism of Dunkirk, IN, Noel Chism and Curtis Chism, both of Little Rock; two sisters, Marie Smith of Muncie, IN and Velma Tunnicliff of Elizabeth; eighteen grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and may good firends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two sons, Paul and Vernon Chism; one grandson, Brian Woods; four brothers, Amel Chism, Jack Chism, Earl Chism and Donald Ray Chism; two sisters, Opal Freeman and Erma June Sexton.
Funeral service will be Saturday, January 5, at 2:00PM at the Calico Rock Funeral Chapel with Gale Wooten officiating. Burial will be at Galatia Cemetery under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home. Visitation will be Friday, January 4, from 6-8PM.
Pallbearers, Tony Chism, Travis Chism, Kent Chism, Randy Corter, Josh Stubbs and Scott Woods.
