Joe Tatum, 95, of Rt. 2, El Dorado, died Monday night in a local hospital following a short illness. Mr. Tatum was born March 7, 1873 in Union County. He was a member of the Caledonia Baptist Church, a retired farmer and a lifelong resident of Union County. Survivors include a son, Harry Tatum of El Dorado; three daughters, Mrs. F. E. Canady and Miss Nina Tatum, both of El Dorado, and Mrs. Wallace Jones of Haynesville, La.; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Caledonia Baptist Church with the Rev. A. D. Robertson officiating. Burial will follow in Caledonia Cemetery under direction of Rumph Mortuary. The body will remain at the funeral home until two hours prior to final rites. (El Dorado Times - April 9, 1968)
