Herbert “Don” Powell, 78, of Mountain View, Arkansas passed away on September 1, 2013 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Powell was born on December 21, 1934 in Fairview Community near Timbo, Arkansas to Jim Dan Powell, Sr. and Nellie Flora (Purdom) Powell. Mr. Powell was of the Baptist faith and worked as a welder and T.V. technician during his lifetime.

Mr. Powell is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Helen Clariece Powell; one daughter, Jyvonne Antoinette (Powell) Miller; one brother, L.C. Powell; one sister, Jimmi Lou Marshall as well as three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Mr. Powell was preceded in death by his parents, Jim Dan Powell, Sr. and Nellie Flora (Purdom) Powell; one daughter, Joyce Angela Powell; three sisters, Pauline Reinecke, Georgia Corter, and Billie Younger; brothers, J.D. Powell, Jr., Hugh Powell as well as three half-brothers, Luster Powell, Lawton Powell, and Hubert Powell.
A visitation will take place on Thursday, September 5, 2013 from 11AM-1PM at Roller Coffman Chapel in Mountain View, Arkansas. A graveside service will follow the visitation beginning at 2:00PM at Blue Mountain Cemetery in Timbo, Arkansas. Brother Daryl Pitts is officiating.
Pallbearers are Hank Miller, Casey Rose, Lee Brooks, Kelsey Canard, and Ryan May, and Mike Dagele. Honorary pallbearers are Steve Nease, Keith Powell, Matthew Miller, Randall May, Dr. James Zini, and Dr. Bruce White.
