FRANKLIN, W.R. - Funeral services were held in Highfill Friday for W.R. Franklin who died April 25th of heart disease at the age of 75 years. The funeral was delayed awaiting the arrival of Mrs. Manning, a daughter who lives in California. Burial was made Friday in the Yell cemetery at Robinson. Mr. Franklin was born in Tennessee and came to Benton county with his parents when a child. He has lived in the vicinity of Highfill all of his life. Besides his widow he is survived by one son, Will Franklin of Oklahoma and three daughters: Mrs. Bert Douglas of Highfill, Mrs. Musteen of Elm Springs and Mrs. Manning of California.

W.R. (Dick) Franklin, age 75 years, old time citizen and resident, died at his home in Highfill Monday, April 25th, 1927 at 5:30 p.m. Mr. Franklin has been in failing health for some time and his passing away was not unlooked for. Mr. Franklin has spent his life in the Logan and Highfill communities, honest and upright, industrious and successful in his business affairs. The community has lost a good man and neighbor. He leaves surviving him besides his wife, three daughters: Mrs. Emma Mustain of Elm Springs; Mrs. Bessie Douglas of Highfill and Mrs. Anna Manning of Bell, California. One son, W.C. Franklin of Sapulpa, Okla., also a brother, John Franklin of Lowell and many friends who will mourn his passing away. The interment will be in Yell Cemetery but the funeral arrangements are not made pending the arrival of information from Mrs. Manning.

The funeral services of W.R. Franklin were held last Friday at the Methodist Church in Highfill at 10 a.m. and were conducted by Rev. C.D. Purlee of Siloam Springs. Interment was in Yell cemetery near Robinson with the Carpenter Brothers in charge. The funeral had been delayed waiting for the arrival of his daughter, Mrs. Manning, who came in Thursday night.
