LUDY, Fanny MASTIN - Mrs. Fanny Ludy, widow of the late Nathaniel Ludy, died at her home here on C Street, S.E. Sunday afternoon, July 28th, 1929, aged 72 years, six months and 16 days. Mrs. Ludy had not been well for some time but her sudden death was unexpected. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the residence conducted by the Rev. R.S. Hayden, pastor of the Bentonville Methodist Episcopal Church, South of which Mrs. Ludy was a member for many years. Interment was made in the Bentonville Mausoleum beside her husband. Mrs. Ludy was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clement Mastin and was born in Michigan January 12th, 1857. Her husband, whose death occurred here February 13th, 1926, was a native of Ohio and a veteran of the Union army in the War Between the States. Mr. and Mrs. Ludy came to Bentonville to live more than 35 years ago and had lived for a few years in the Mason Valley neighborhood southwest of town. They came to Arkansas from one of the Northern states. Mrs. Ludy is survived by an adopted daughter, Mrs. Hubert Phillips, who is the daughter of her sister. She was adopted by Mr. and Mrs. Ludy when a small child after her mother's death. She was married only recently.
